Job Summary
An Infrastructure Support Engineer is needed to support the operation, maintenance, and performance of a complex system infrastructure. The role focuses on maintaining virtualized environments, troubleshooting system issues, automating administrative tasks, and ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of system operations. The position also involves collaborating with technical teams, maintaining documentation, and supporting infrastructure deployment and maintenance activities.
Requirements
Travel:
Occasional travel may be required to support system deployments and maintenance activities (less than 10%).
Security Clearance Requirement:
An active Secret clearance is required. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and able to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Requirements
Strong understanding of VMware virtualization technologies and virtual machine configuration
Proficiency with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Ansible, Bash, and Python
Excellent documentation and communication skills
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues independently
Comprehensive understanding of system-of-systems concepts, Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), and complex architectures
Extensive knowledge of Linux operating systems (RHEL and Ubuntu) and Windows operating systems
Responsibilities
Maintain and troubleshoot virtualized infrastructure environments using VMware
Configure and manage virtual machines (VMs) to ensure optimal performance and resource utilization
Automate system administration tasks using scripting languages such as PowerShell, Ansible, Bash, and Python
Develop and maintain technical documentation for infrastructure processes and procedures
Collaborate with team members to resolve technical issues and share knowledge
Troubleshoot complex technical problems with minimal supervision
Maintain a strong understanding of system architecture, IaaS components, and system interdependencies
Install, configure, and maintain Linux and Windows operating systems
Preferred Skills and Experience
Knowledge of AWS environments, particularly tactical cloud environments
Programming or software development experience
VMware or Infrastructure-as-a-Service certifications
Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science or Information Systems is preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
