Description

Our client, a long-standing Epicor Eclipse user in the distribution industry, is seeking an experienced EDI Consultant to support and enhance their current electronic data interchange (EDI) environment. This is an open-ended contract focused on continuous improvement, troubleshooting, and integration support across internal systems and trading partners.

You'll work closely with IT leadership, business process owners, and external vendors to ensure seamless EDI transactions, data accuracy, and compliance with partner requirements. This is a hands-on technical and functional role ideal for someone who thrives in an independent consulting environment.
Responsibilities

• Support, maintain, and enhance the client's existing Epicor Eclipse EDI integrations and mapping.
• Collaborate with internal teams to design, test, and implement new EDI transactions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve EDI-related errors, transmission failures, and partner connectivity issues.
• Manage onboarding of new trading partners and setup of EDI documents (e.G., 850, 855, 856, 810, etc.).
• Develop and maintain documentation for EDI processes, standards, and configurations.
• Coordinate with vendors and third-party integration providers to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
• Recommend and implement EDI process improvements and automation where possible.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of hands-on Epicor Eclipse experience (functional or technical).
• Strong background in EDI configuration, mapping, and troubleshooting within Eclipse.
• Experience with XML, X12, or flat file formats and data translation tools.
• Familiarity with EDI standards and common document types (e.G., 850, 855, 856, 810).
• Proven ability to work independently and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience supporting distribution or manufacturing environments is highly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Gentran, Cleo, or other EDI middleware solutions.
• Background in SQL, Python, or scripting for data analysis or automation.
• Prior consulting experience supporting multiple EDI trading partners or environments.
